DemCon app for iPhone and iPad

DemCon is more than just a news app; it’s a first-of-its-kind, hand-curated, “full-stack” news and information aggregator.

Fueled by content from outside of the traditional mainstream media domain, all of our information is hand-curated by humans in real-time from over 3,600 sources. There are no AI or algorithms controlling our news feeds - we only share news and information that we find interesting, educational and relevant. DemCon is designed for the curious mind.


FULL-STACK DISPLAY

All our menus lead to an information stack. At the top of every stack is a NEWS feed, where you can swipe through the stories. Scrolling down, you will find VIDEOS, FACTS, QUOTES, DEFINITIONS, HISTORY, OPINION POLLS, trending POLITICIANS, SPEECHES, JOBS, EVENTS, and PRODUCTS. We are always updating and adding new information to our stacks.

FUNCTIONALITY

The app works both vertically and horizontally, creating a dynamic hand-held media experience for our users. You have the ability to swipe through our photo cards and click on them to open & read, or to select SEE ALL to see everything in a list view and use our filter/sort options.

SEARCH

Want to find something quickly? Our search feature gives you the ability to browse our database by content type, e.g. “climate change” - QUOTES or “mental health” - FACTS. It can also be filtered by political leaning. Want to see all left-leaning videos about Obama? We have that. Want to see right-leaning news about Ron DeSantis? We have that too.

MENUS

The top menu drives the four main content areas within the app: The ALL (main feed and landing page), THEMATIC category, STATE category, and POLITICIANS.

YOU CONTROL THE STACK

DemCon offers multiple ways to control your media feeds:
- If you want to see left or right-leaning news, we give you that option, but it’s ONLY available on your landing page. This selection is clearly indicated by the red, blue, or purple colored dot next to your NEWS and VIDEO feeds (Red = right-ish, blue = left-ish, purple = both sides). When you move out of your main feed you will see the full political spectrum, as indicated by the purple icons next to the content types
- You can MUTE any media source by clicking the 3-dot menu found at the top righthand corner of any piece of media
- You control the REFRESH of the feeds by pulling down on the screen. We don’t push out live updates disrupting your experience, but if you move from one stack to another, the app will refresh
- Want to see news and videos that we post from a particular media company? Click on the grey lightbulb on any piece of media to UNDERSTAND that source, for everything to filter into your main feed
- Want to see news and videos that we post about your favorite politician or political party? From the POLITICIANS menu tab, you can easily find and select their profile and click the Understand Me or Understand Us, for everything to filter into your main feed

THEMATICS

From the top menu, you will find the following full-stack thematic categories: + Feel Good (positive news), Addiction, Crime, Democracy, Economy, Education, Environment,Fair Trade, Food & Drink, Homelessness, Immigration, Law, Mental Health, Military, Parenting, Physical Health, Space, Technology, Travel & Recreation, and Veterans. Along with media content, you can also click on the marketplace to find jobs, events and products that align with these themes. We have full-stack state categories for all 50 states as well, which operate similarly to the thematics.

FOR THE POLITICALLY INTRIGUED

From the POLITICIANS menu, you can browse profiles for the main political parties, the current/past presidents, vice presidents and first ladies, and the current senators,governors and representatives. You can also view politicians by party. The political profiles are full-stack and contain news, videos, facts, quotes, speeches, opinion polls and political products. Our next phase includes a pilot with the NYC mayor.
